Book Week at Brookburn!

This week we celebrated our love of books with our annual Book Fair which was held in the hall each morning before school. Thank you for your support,  as all commision goes towards new books for our classrooms.

World Book Day, on Thursday, was  a chance for all to come dressed as their favourite character and show off their costumes on the cat walk.  There were some great team efforts where children and staff had got together to come as different  characters from the same book, series or author. Well done everyone!

International Day!

On Friday, we held our  annual International Day where we celebrated our school’s  diverse community. A continental breakfast was enjoyed by children and families and the corridor display show-casing the children’s learning was enjoyed.  All classes from Reception to Year 6 have been finding out about  different countries and all have cooked a tasty dish typical of the country chosen. We have seen ratatouille, a range of breads, Chinese spring rolls, spicy Mexican wraps and pizzas being prepared in the classroom and our cookery room. On the day, children were involved in many activities, including ‘La Discoteca’ in Y3 and watching the Hungry Caterpillar being performed in French. Merci Beaucoup Madam Warrington!!
